Panelled doors have graced properties for hundreds of years.

Doors can be tailored to your style with a range of period panels and mouldings, or an existing door can be reproduced.

All doors produced by GBS are manufactured with uncompromising  traditional methods using mortise and tennon joints.

All doors are made from a range of engineered timber, a multi-lamination of the solid wood where the opposing grain provides stability in service, so no twisting , swelling, shrinking or warping.

Hardwoods include Oak and Mahogany, softwoods included  Columbian Pine, Douglas Fir and Swedish Redwood. They now also offer Accoya, a modified timber with a 50 year manufacturer’s warranty against decay.

A range of high security multipoint locks, including slam shut, are offered along with furniture in various styles and finishes to adorn your door.

Finally doors are finished with a factory applied paint system in a choice of colours or stains.

Established in 1984 GBS has over the years developed a sympathetic understanding of a variety of property styles, carving their place in the industry by tailoring their products to reproduce the detail found in both period style windows and doors whilst complying as required with all the relevant building regulations.

All their products are made with uncompromising traditional methods, using a range of the best possible quality timbers available and a combination of traditional skills coupled with an investment in modern machinery. GBS products incorporate all of today’s requirements such as draught stripping, double glazing with low ‘E’ glass and Argon gas, to produce an energy efficient product whilst importantly retaining the original character. Their skilled staff are trained in achieving exacting standards and are keen to produce a variety of windows and doors, from traditional sliding sash windows and casement windows to a range of period style doors, all with great pride.

Based in Cheshire GBS are happy to travel around the UK to meet their customers who can vary from those who own the very modest of Victorian terrace house to a country farmhouse or grand archetypal Georgian Rectory . They also work with the National Trust and the many period properties they have to maintain.

GBS are always delighted to be involved and offer their experience in new build and total renovation projects, providing detailed drawings from their own library, liaising with architects and local authority planning and conservation officers.

GBS are always pleased to freely provide the best possible information and advice.
