The JK® system is the UK’s only certified in-ground, retrofit, warm water underfloor heating (UFH) system with no floor build-up. The company boosts over 25 years’ experience in creating unique underfloor heating solutions for homeowners.

Our JK floorgrinder cuts channels directly into the existing floor, wherein the UFH pipes are laid to heat your home from the floor up.

The JK Floorheating system, a zero build-up retrofit UFH solution, offers the following benefits:

  • Zero build-up as it is embedded ‘into’ existing screed floors
  • Bespoke custom floor cutting on site
  • Affordable as no potentially costly sub-floor work is needed
  • Quick installations in as little as one working day
  • Dust-free channels are cut with virtually no dust
  • Responsive — feel the warmth within minutes
  • Eco-friendly as it uses low-water temperatures.

A unique retrofit underfloor heating system

The JK® system is an in-ground, water-based underfloor heating solution uniquely designed for installation in existing floor constructions, including concrete, screed or dry-board.

Pioneered by JK in 1994, this patented method enables homeowners to upgrade to a modern, energy-efficient and comfortable heating system without extensive renovation.

Over the past three decades, nearly a quarter of a million homes across Western Europe have benefited from this well-tested solution.

JK’s in-house trained installers are skilled in meeting stringent installation standards, ensuring optimal system performance as the primary heat source in any building. Moreover, the JK® system complies with the latest UK regulations, including Part L of the Building Regulations, which requires improvements to align with net-zero emissions goals.

Unlike traditional underfloor heating methods that involve extensive excavation and concrete work, the JK® system minimises environmental impact while delivering significant energy savings — making it the preferred choice for sustainable home improvement.

A customisable solution, bespoke to your home

Once floor channels are created, bespoke JK® Flextube pipes – made from high-quality five-layer PE-RT material with a lifetime warranty – are embedded seamlessly into the channels. This ensures even heat distribution across the home.

The customisable nature of the JK® system is its standout feature — allowing tailored installations to suit unique home layouts. This zoning capability enables different areas, like the kitchen and living room, to be heated at varying temperatures and times, enhancing comfort and efficiency.

Additionally, with the heating system concealed beneath the floor, homeowners enjoy design freedom and open spaces without the need to accommodate radiators. The JK® system stands for reliability and longevity, delivering a lifetime of warmth and sustainability.

The JK® manifold can be paired with a boiler or a heat pump

After the pipes are installed, they are directly connected to the JK® manifold — a compact, stainless-steel distribution unit that controls water flow from the heat source, whether a boiler, heat pump or another system.

The JK® manifold operates efficiently at low inflow temperatures below 50°C, reducing strain on heat sources and enhancing energy efficiency.

Custom-designed and manufactured in the Netherlands, these manifolds exemplify JK’s commitment to quality. Introduced in the early 2000s, when high-quality underfloor heating manifolds were scarce, the JK® manifold was designed to uphold JK’s lifetime warranty promise.

Its customisation ensures every home’s unique size and layout are matched with an optimal manifold and pipe design. Additionally, the entire JK® system is pressure-tested upon installation to ensure a fully functional and secure setup before other trades commence their work, guaranteeing peace of mind and seamless project progression.

A premium finish ensures optimal performance

The final step in the JK® installation process involves backfilling the channels with JK® Flexseal— a premium, water-based product developed exclusively for the system. This ensures any remaining gaps around the pipes are filled, optimising heat transfer and creating a smooth, durable surface for subsequent flooring work.

JK® Flexseal adheres effectively to various subfloors, whether porous or non-porous, and bonds seamlessly with JK® Flextube pipes, ensuring a robust foundation for levelling compounds or direct tile installation.

Easy to apply and clean, its water-based formulation is non-hazardous, making it a practical and eco-friendly solution for homeowners and contractors alike.
