Storm’s Horizontal Sliding Units are ideal for casement windows that require regular ventilation.

Installed into the reveals, this unobtrusive system has minimal impact on the primary windows, whilst maintaining full functionality.

All secondary glazing site lines will be matched up with your existing mullions to ensure that your windows retain their period features without being compromised by secondary glazing – a priority when preserving the character of your historic property whilst improving the thermal efficiency.

The slim, lightweight framework can be powder-coated to any RAL or BS number to complement your existing decor and provide you with a great-looking result, which is virtually invisible, outside and in.

This style of secondary glazing can be made to fit the exact nature of your primary windows, and can be engineered to facilitate out of true cills and heads and even splayed reveals. The horizontal sliding panes are easily removable to allow cleaning and maintenance of primary windows.

Storm Windows is a family-run business, based in the West Midlands and offering a nationwide service. Their central location gives the team great access to major transport links, allowing them to provide their secondary glazing to addresses across Britain.
Storm’s specialist team of engineers individually manufacture all secondary glazed units by hand, which allows them to replicate the varying features of historic primary windows, regardless of shape, using their hand-crafted techniques to help reproduce the idiosyncrasies of the original window. The company continually develops their products, using engineering expertise in order to seamlessly and sympathetically work with the fabric of the original building, without detracting from its unique character.
With mounting demands on listed property owners along with ever increasing conservation regulations and requirements, the need for secondary glazing is even more apparent.
Storm’s clients range from private homeowners to organisations such as English Heritage, the National Trust, Historic Scotland and Cadw.
The way they work
They have their own dedicated team of surveyors who work nationwide, offering a free consultation service. This initial survey ensures they fully understand your requirements and therefore offer the most appropriate secondary glazing products to suit your primary windows and retain their operation. Surveyors also carry out the installations of the secondary glazing, allowing continuity of service from start to finish of your project, and helping achieve a trusted working relationship with customers.
To enable Storm to maintain and control quality of their products and services, their secondary glazing is only available directly from the company. From initial contact with the sales and estimating representatives in their office, through to production in the workshop and finally the installation, all orders are dealt with solely by Storm’s in-house team, who work together to deal with enquiries and manage the progression of your order.
