Climate change is a reality and one of the biggest factors affecting our futures and those of our children, with Passivhaus is becoming a more important building standard than ever. The Passive House is the most energy efficient building standard consuming no more than 15kWh of heating energy per sq metre of living environment, which equates to 1.5 litres of heating oil.

Passivhaus standards result in a reduction by 90% of heating in existing buildings and 75% in new properties and this is achieved with cutting edge glazing technologies. KÖMMERLING’s System 76 platform is one of the slimmest windows across the globe that can achieve Passivhaus and certification by ift Rosenheim has backed this up.

proEnergyTec profiles are used along with triple glazing in the AluClip Pro and AluClip Zero design variants and these technologies and specifications are also harnessed in the residential and lift and slide PremiDoor product solutions. Controlled ventilation and heat recovery are also part of the overall building envelope specification under Passivhaus.

Slender profiles and large glazed areas can now be realised with our certified Passivhaus solutions. The ift certification of WA-15/2 was issued in 2011 and calculates the Uvalue under DIN EN ISO 10077-2, along with measurement via the hot box method, which offers more realistic application values than other methods. Ultimately the Uvalue must be no more than 0.80 W/(m2k), but please contact us for further project details.

Like their name suggests, Hybrid Window Systems is all about hybrid windows and glazing products, utilising the key features of each material and putting them together to offer an incredible range of products. This is in terms of visual appeal, along with outstanding performance and it’s for good reason that they have chosen KÖMMERLING as their product systems partner.

Hybrid Window Systems can offer hybrid windows and doors with enhanced weather ratings and with incredible levels of thermal efficiency including Passivhaus levels of performance in windows, residential doors and the latest ‘in vogue’ large span PremiDoor lift and slide patio doors. Aluminium is a firm favourite with architects and so they use this as their external material, offering literally hundreds of different finishes, while PVCu is used for its unrivalled thermal efficiency and sound reduction properties to the inside, with a variety of internal finishing options.

With a newly commissioned  hybrid windows manufacturing facility just outside Worcester, they can manage shorter lead times, ensure the upmost in product quality and also provide full specifier support, including CAD drawings and site visits. Hybrid glazing systems are now becoming increasingly adopted, so why not let Hybrid Window Systems become your partner of choice?
