Having recently written an article on innovation in the bathroom and been fascinated, intrigued and at times baffled by some of the new products recently launched, it has made simple, unfussy and functional design seem all the more appealing. Of course spa-like bathrooms are the dream, but subtle white sanitaryware and sleek, chrome brassware will not be dating anytime soon and is a good, safe option, Favourite bathroom ranges include the Happy D from Duravit and Ideal Standard‘s White range (pictured) — they may not be brand new, they may not feature chromatherapy, sounds or smells, but they will still look stylish for many years to come.

I agree Natasha, as someone who has just moved into a house with a bathroom straight out of the 1970s we have decided to strip the whole lot out and start again. We’re going to opt for a simple, plain white suite that hopefully won’t date too quickly and add character with finishing touches such as a large mirror and nice lighting and a few pictures that can be changed and updated more easily.
