We have today been given approval of our reserved matters so, pending building regs, are in a position to move forward with our build at long last. I know the announcement re the hoped for self builder exemption from the affordable housing contribution is imminent and have also learnt from the local authority’s website that it is only payable on completion of the project. What I am wondering is, if we start the build before the exemption has been announced, are we likely to still have to pay it even if it is exempted for self builders in the meantime. I recall when we we’re awaiting the CIL exemption announcement, the advice was not to start until it was official.
