Feeling the love for my builders this week. These guys have grafted away to make brilliant progress. The concrete was poured into the ground — all seven wagon loads of it on Friday, they stayed until 7pm to get the job done and it dried nicely over the weekend.

Thanks to the dry weather this week, operations have gone according to plan. Sand, bricks and cement have been delivered and the base has begun its ascent; it’s great to see the preparation of the land done and the constructive stuff begin. We even have our first cornerstones in situ!

A 3/4 tonne steel beam has been positioned in the middle of base and yesterday it was covered in wire mesh and concrete. Work continues bricklaying for the base and it’s all coming along smoothly so far! Next stop: concrete base to be poured.
