Whether you're a seasoned renovator or are in the process of your first project, there's always something new to learn and the best way to do so is often through others. And with hundreds of DIY influencers out there, it's never been easier to have first-hand advice at your fingertips.
While you obviously shouldn't trust just anyone with a paint brush and nail gun you see on the internet, there are definitely some gem accounts out there that offer inspiring ideas, practical tips, along with the renovation mistakes to avoid.
Below, we've rounded up eight of our favourite DIY content creators that you can trust and the platforms to find them on.
1. The Haye Barn
Sharing the ups and downs of their hay barn renovation, couple Georgia and Josh are one of our go-to creators to follow, posting their favourite hacks they've learned along the way and some lovely country interior inspo.
The duo even made a special appearance at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show 2026, where they shared their top tips and how to renovate on a budget. We were particularly impressed by their DIY bespoke alcove unit, which cost them just £460 in materials (after being quoted £4,300!)

2. Man with a Hammer
If you've ever wondered what it's like to renovate and live in a mansion, Greg Penn (also known as 'Man with a Hammer') will give you a glimpse. After taking on the massive job of restoring a 30-room, five-storey Georgian home in Devon, he decided to share his journey on Instagram and has racked up close to half a million followers in the process.
While Greg initially expected the project to take five years in total, he says he is still halfway through after seven years of works. You can expect behind-the-scenes content, inspiring before-and-after shots, as well as the personal side of taking on such a big renovation.

3. Medina Grillo
One of my personal favourite influencers, Medina Grillo, shares "achievable DIY" hacks she's picked up from renovating her 1930s family home. From building a bespoke understairs storage unit to creating a mid-century breakfast nook, there's heaps of great advice and inspiring designs on her page.
Medina isn't afraid to get real either and is open to sharing the mistakes she's made along the way, like how she chose the wrong type of carpet for her stairs. Learning from others' blips is a great way to save time and money on your own project.

4. Give It a Go Reno
Join Alice and Pete as they renovate their home in Leeds, sharing first-hand advice and inspiration on Instagram and TikTok. After buying their house in 2018 without having a viewing, the couple had a long list of jobs to complete before they could even move in, including repointing, a damp course, new electrics and a new boiler.
The duo, who regularly contribute to Homebuilding & Renovating, have since tackled a range of DIY jobs – from turning their chimney into a home library to transforming their living area and, more recently, fitting cane webbing to their wardrobe doors.

5. Sharn's House
Injecting fun and colour into both her posts and house, Sharn Rayment shares practical DIY tutorials, home hacks and affordable furniture dupes with her hundereds of thousands of followers.
The creator recently gave her London terrace garden a makeover for £120,000, which included gorgeous geometric patterned floor tiles, a pastel-painted exterior to her home and a lawn transformation.

6. Scott DIY
Scott Baggaley (also known as 'Scott DIY' to his half a million followers) documents his 1930s home renovation journey on multiple platforms, sharing the highs, the lows and the mistakes to avoid.
The marketer-come-handyman-come-influencer shares behind-the-scenes content from the project, including the transformation of a dingy galley kitchen into a modern cooking space. He also shares fantastic inspiration, like a DIY wheelie bin storage unit and herringbone-tiled fireplace idea.

7. The Little House in London
If you're looking for DIY tips and interior inspiration, look no further than 'The Little House in London' (Imogen Stead), who recently completed renovating a Victorian terrace into a family home.
Some of our favourite features include the panelled boot room, which includes a gorgeous stained glass window, and her home office design, complete with bespoke shelves and a desk.

8. Oh Abode
Whether you want advice on how to use a circular saw or the best power tools that are worth investing in, Jasmine Gurney ('Oh Abode') shares brilliant DIY advice with her 129,000 Instagram followers.
The creator is currently in the middle of renovating a 1920s home in Bedfordshire, where she's turned her hand to everything from built-in storage units to a bespoke playhouse. She also shares budget-friendly ideas, such as a compost garden border that saved her £700.

Social media is one of the best places to find DIY inspiration, so we're not suprised that 42% of Brits use it to find home improvement ideas, according to Appino. The creators above are a great place to start for relateable advice and guidance if you're new to it all.
