We are in the middle of a radical re-modelling of a bungalow, staying nearly on the same footprint but taking the roof up by a metre and changing it from hip to gable. The property will be as airtight and as well insulated as possible, builder and his team fully on board -but – he feels that a wooden front door will need usual small gap around it and will thus destroy the airtight quality of the entrance porch (separate wood inner door to main body of the house). Recommends look at Uvpc door and rubber seal, we don’t like these doors (already have one in current house) prefer wood …HELP.
Are there new seals which can be used with wooden doors to ensure airtightness is not compromised? The wooden rooflights all have good seals on.
