I know this is supposed to be a building blog.

For the last year I’ve been saying how much I want to preserve the wildlife around our steading.  Now the wildlife is a blinking nuisance!  Below is an Oyster Catcher’s nest with two lovely speckled eggs.

The only problem is, it’s right here:

So we stopped work on our dry stone wall to wait until the chicks have hatched and fledged.  It’ll only take a couple of weeks, we thought.   I looked it up later – two months from egg to fledgling!!

Oh well, there’s plenty of other jobs to do….and there’s always the neighbours’ kittens to play with

We’re still sorting out our homebuilding loan. Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll have more pictures of bricks and tools, and fewer baby animals.
