“As homeowners are increasingly looking to carve out their own private sanctuaries, wallpaper can cement a relaxing ambience.”

Tim believes green is the perfect choice for creating a stylish relaxing bathroom thanks to its calming and healing properties. Combine with a nature-inspired print for extra biophilic points.

Tim adds: “in terms of practicalities, avoid hanging wallpaper in splash areas around the bath and sink, use an extra strong adhesive and finish with a coat of clear matt varnish to protect from the humidity.”

15. Max out on green-veined marble

Nothing says sophsticated hotel more than floor to ceiling slabs of marble tiling. But instead of sticking with a more traditional grey or black veined marble, choose green tones for a fresh take on a classic design.

It is extremely versatile, pairing well with many colours, and a gloss finish on forest green tiles can provide a touch of luxury, whilst adding to the feeling of a bright, open space with their ability to reflect light. "

Leigh shares advice for ensuring the scheme doesn't look too dark.

"Forest green can be quite a heavy, rich shade, so choosing a tile with a gloss finish can also help to welcome light back into the room. This prevents the space from feeling cramped, which darker colours can sometimes do."
