The house where Captain Tom Moore completed his incredible walk for charity has gone up for sale for £2.25 million.

The Grade II listed, 18th century, Old Rectory in Bedfordshire was inherited by Captain Tom's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore and her family after his death in 2021.

However, after the home became the centre of a planning permission row over a pool house that was erected on the estate.

Placed for sale after controversy

The family were granted planning permission to build an outbuilding that was said to be used for "charity functions" but instead a spa complex called the 'Captain Tom pool house'  was built that was double the proposed size.

Neighbours complained to the council and after a retrospective planning application was rejected the Captain Tom pool house was demolished after a long planning battle with Ms Ingram Moore stating the decision to build the pool house was "probably the wrong one".
