The Lightwave system is completely modular because it works with existing wiring.  The Smart Sockets are easy to retro-fit following the instructions provided in the box.  Should you need any assistance, their smart home experts including qualified electricians are on hand to help, at the end of the phone.

Lightwave makes life easier with beautifully designed smart home technology that fits with your lifestyle, providing comfort and peace of mind with monitoring of energy usage and greater control of lighting, heating and power via a range of easy to install devices.
With no need for additional wiring, Lightwave smart dimmers can replace existing light switches and allow a world of smart lighting possibilities including scene-setting, zone control and scheduling.
Their range of other devices includes smart sockets, relays, thermostats, valves, sensors and monitors, all managed via a central hub. Devices can be controlled manually or through their Android or iOS app. Voice control of Lightwave products is also possible through Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa or the Apple HomeKit platform.

The Lightwave system is based around a hub, the Link Plus, that simply plugs into a spare port in your existing wireless broadband router. The hub acts as a gateway which allows wireless communication between the smart devices wirelessly connected to it and your phone or tablet. Many smart devices use a ‘mesh’ network to initiate this communication whereby each smart device in the home wirelessly connects to its nearest neighbour passing on commands. Conversely, the Lightwave Link Plus is able to communicate directly with corresponding smart devices across the home due to its excellent wireless range.  The length and stability of the range is very important as it needs to be able to cope with homes of different sizes and of different construction materials and this is especially important for the control of smart lighting where any break in signal or delay would be very inconvenient.  The RF protocol used by Lightwave products is better than Wi-Fi for this type of communication and their are able to guarantee stability for a long range.  Many people use one hub to control devices in very large properties, some with out-houses, with no problem.

For anyone planning a build project or renovation, it is worth considering how to future-proof your property and add value to it by making the very fabric of the home ‘smart’.  Lightwave can assist with helping you understand the solution which will work best for you.  Their team of friendly experts are ready to help; whether it be by telephone, live-chat or by visiting your home or project for a smart home consultation.
