We are currently dealing with the local planning department to add a second storey extension to our edwardian property which sits in a conservation area. It overlooks a beautiful park and as we have no back yard to speak of we thought having an extension on the garage with an ensuite/sun room/balcony would give us the outdoor space. After several amendments to the plans with the extension being made more edwardian to fit in with the street the planner I believe likes it however the conservation officer says no. Who has the over ruling say?
