The render is cracked but not coming off and is very hard and smooth and designed to look like stone blocks. It is definitely not lime. There is subsidence, with cracks inside and I suspect the building needs to be underpinned on at least one side. Hideous attempts have been made to repair internal walls with renovation plaster etc. The building abuts and is an annex to a regency rustic brick hall which is mostly alright except needs a new roof.
I haven’t bought it yet, I want to get a few ball park figures for restoration costs before I make an offer. We will be able to re point and re render it in lime, ourselves it’s just the cost and likely time of removing it. The building is about 40′ x20′ with a 15’x15′ bay. Many thanks.
