Hi – i’m redeveloping an ugly 50s house with new render, oak cladding etc and need 26 new timber windows and doors – they are the largest part of the budget so want to get it right – I’m siding with Jeldwen at present but could do with an alternative in a similar price bracket – your views on Jeldwen windows would be appreciated and any other recommendations – Jeldwen have quoted around £16k, Timbawood double that, Arden Windows about the same but only with projecting hinges and i dont like those, want butt hinges. End value of house c.£900k

    Johnathan,

I have used a company called Benlowe Windows on several occasions. In my mind they manufacture a far superior window to Jeldwen and have always come in cheaper.
