Replacing timber sashes with Bronze window – the outcome is stylish, modern and long lasting.

Architectural Bronze Casements provide solutions for renovations and new-builds.

This project gave the owners a complete transformation of their lovely barn conversion in Buckinghamshire.

The previous owner installed a real ‘hotch potch’ variety of sash windows over time and this non-conformity led the new owners to do something about it. They wished to have a more uniform look and one that was more contemporary and in keeping with the barn with its modern wooden clad exterior.

Architectural Bronze Casements were brought to the client’s attention by their architect, who recommended the beautiful bronze windows. Once seen, the owners fell in love with the strong aesthetics of the bronze and the flexibility in design through offering a variety of window design, screen design and door designs. The windows feature horizontal transoms which have a more contemporary look and work very well with the lines of the cladding. The stained Oak timber frames were also supplied by Architectural Bronze Casements and a simple profile was selected to maintain the clean lines.

The windows were from the Advanced System and had side opening casements. The large screens featured in the main hallway provide an influx of light and fabulous views out to the countryside. As part of the renovation, the owners added a conservatory style lean-to extension by Vale Garden Houses which incorporates bronze inserts in the double doors which complement the bronze windows.

When you look at the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos you can see why the owners are delighted with their new look barn and this is a very good example of how your home can ‘come alive’ with new bronze windows and doors.

Architectural Bronze Casements are highly recognised for their unique and diverse range of bronze windows, doors, screens and secondary glazing. Over the years they have been specified for the conservation of historic properties through to the installation in today’s more modern architectural designs.

Aesthetically striking, this material is an exciting alternative to steel and aluminium. ‘Architectural bronze’ is a manganese brass alloy which is extremely strong, long lasting and requires little maintenance.

There are a range of systems, designed to marry with architectural requirements and each unit is carefully hand made to exacting standards. Bespoke designs and shaped openings can be achieved along with lead detailing for specific design requirements.  The striking appearance also makes them ideal for more contemporary style projects. Casements are usually incorporated within stone, brick or timber openings.
