I have just bought a 1920’s semi-detached house, which currently has no driveway at all. The wall on the front boundary goes straight onto the road, it does not cross a pavement. I am planning on just taking a section of the wall down and putting down gravel for the meantime, as we will have the driveway done properly when we get round to the extension. Am I right in thinking that I don’t need planning as it will be gravel and there is no kerb to worry about, but will need to get in touch with the Highways Agency regarding the access suitability?
