I have a SIPs construction house where the lounge faces NE and due to a slope, is 1 meter below the main house. The house is heated by thermal solar and an 8 kW woodburning stove which feeds the 250l thermal store and has MVHR fitted. Unfortunately, due to its low position, the lounge is cold despite having two air inlets and I’m looking for options to improve this, short of fitting another stove.

The woodburner is in the double height hall in the centre of the house and consequently, the upstairs can get up to 29 degrees when it’s on. Question – even though this isn’t a wet room and technically, I shouldn’t have an extractor in the room with a stove, can I put in an additional extraction point here (to right of smoke detector) and recirculate the heat around the house?
