I really like this Bavarian townhouse by German architects SoHo Architektur. The house, in the town of Memmingen, is a modernist take on the traditional home that it replaced. Whilst the shape and form of this townhouse would obviously seem quite alien in our towns and cities, I think this project is perfect example of how modern, cutting-edge homes do not have to be alienated from traditional street-scenes. This house not only successfully blends into its surroundings far better than any pastiche copy could hope to do, but at the same time it adds to the architecture of the street, in a way that a replica never will.

It’s a little too stark white for my taste Sam, I can appreciate that the style and design have been influenced by the more traditional homes around it, but I think that it kind of looks like an electric plug.
