Tile Backing Board by DIY Wetroom
Description
Tile Backer Board (tbb) has four uses: As a tile backer for bonding tiles over poor substrates, an insulant for underfloor heating, a membrane to waterproof wet rooms (see Showerlay & Membrane product profile) and a general building board to form room partitions, platforms, vanity units or shelving for tiling over.
Sizes: 2600 x 20,30, 40, 50, 60mm
1300 x 600 x 6, 10mm
It is of identical construction to the showerlay: i.e., extruded polystyrene faced with polymer cement embedded into glass fibre scrim. Cut with a sharp knife. By Scoring at 20mm intervals it can be cured then set with flexible tile adhesive over our 100mm glass scrim. Finish by tiling with mosaic. Ideal for making a tiled arches canopy or curved wet room space.
Can be spot-bonded using the dot and dab method or screwed using our 50mm Fixing Washers. Fix to breezeblock with 80mm Metal Dowels. Use silicone on joint faces or seal with 100mm glass scrims as before.
Minimum floor tile size 25 x 25mm (point loading)
