The Schrijver System® is a humidity regulating system which consists of a stone element (and in the case of a cavity wall a tube is also used to channel the moisture). The whole system is fixed in a specially prepared niche in the outside wall. Through an opening in the element, dry air can flow into the system from the outside environment. This air is led directly to the two air chambers.
A second opening in the system causes a draught. This leads to a drop in temperature within the tube and as a result a cold bridge is created, this happens because humidity is deposited on the coldest spot and is in turn transported outside by the natural airflow. In the same way, condensation from within the house also disappears.
