Call For Entries: The UK’s Premier Self-build and Renovation Awards Scheme
This Thursday May 20 2010 sees the launch of the Daily Telegraph Homebuilding & Renovating Awards — the UK’s leading awards scheme for people who have self-built or renovated to create their dream home.
Jason Orme, Editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, who organise the Awards in collaboration with the Daily Telegraph, says:
“This is a chance for ordinary homeowners who do something extraordinary with their own home to get the recognition they deserve. Our Awards scheme, now in its 18th year, attracts entries from a diverse range of people. We encourage entries from people who have commissioned architects or package companies to build their own home, all the way through to DIYers who have transformed their existing home.”
The Awards aim to applaud the efforts of the 20,000 self-builders who each year step out of the mainstream housing market and decide to build a new home to meet their own unique needs. “We see all sorts of brilliant one-off homes, from new homes that display cutting-edge design features to houses that are amazingly energy-efficient,” continues Jason Orme. “We encourage self-builders and renovators of all styles of house, built to any size or budget, to send along pictures and fill out the simple entry form.”
Entry into the Awards scheme is free and entry forms can be downloaded at homebuilding.co.uk/awards. The Overal Winner of this year’s Awards scheme will win a fully-inclusive two-night break at a Hotel du Vin of their choice – and inspire thousands of other homeowners to follow in their path.
