Britain’s Best Homes: You Pick the Winner!
As of today (Friday October 23) visitors to www.selfbuildawards.co.uk will be able to choose their overall winner from the five finalist homes in this year’s competition.
Over the past week thousands of people have been selecting their favourite homes in five individual categories and the results are now in. Those winners are now up for the overall prize, and once again www.selfbuildawards.co.uk is asking for your vote.
Homes in the final include a radical contemporary redesign of a 1930s bungalow, an oak framed self-build in Cheshire, a period restoration in Spitalfields, the remodelling of a 1960s home and a contemporary home in Cornwall.
The website marks the first time a major housing awards has enabled readers to leave their comments and decide on the winner, who will be awarded the Reader’s Choice Award. Houses featured include cutting-edge modern self-builds, charming barn conversions and imaginative extension and remodelling schemes.
“We’ve whittled down fifteen great homes to a shortlist of five,” comments judge Jason Orme, Editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine and an experienced self-builder. “The videos of the five finalists are really inspiring to anyone interested in homes, and we’re very keen to see which one is the visitors’ favourite.”
The Awards, now in their 17th year, and sponsored this year by the Government’s Planning Portal website, aim to recognise the achievement of the nation’s 100,000+ strong army of self-builders, renovators and barn converters.
