By converting a former die cast works in Lancashire, designer Shaun Beverley has successfully created a contemporary style, three storey, four bedroom, four bathroom, 253m² house with a totally unique character.
Austin case study
David and Ellie Austin’s 290m2, three bedroom, split level family home , built partially into a deep hillside site overlooking the Cotswold town of Nailsworth, is in many ways the ideal ‘green’ project.
Designed along ecological principles using green building materials such as natural stone, slate and local timber, the home was designed with most of its glazing facing south to maximise passive solar gain. High levels of insulation help to store heat within the building’s mass.
