Hi I need to move the existing gas meter, does anyone know how much this is likely to cost and who would need to do this work, gas provider, plumber etc?
Hello Gill.
Your gas supplier wil have to move the meter for you, so you will also require a plumber to re connect to the meter.
Additionally the Main Earthing to the Gas Supply will also have to be moved.

Ian
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Ian. I've just found this page on the National grid website with some phone numbers, so I'll see if I can get hold of someone there tomorrow. I'll let you know if I get any info.

This is a job for the gas supplier who will contract Transco the supply network managers. You can get a gas safe registered tradesman to alter anything after the meter, but anything before the meter is part of the network and you can’t touch it.
