External air for stoves

To install a woodburning stove as part of a renovation, can we arrange a direct air supply from under the floorboards? We dont want to cut a draughty opening in the well sealed room. There is also a chimney - is a balanced flue up the chimney possible?

Yes you can draw combustion air from a ventilated floor space. I have never heard of a vertical balanced flue stove.
