Does anyone know of web sites where self builders can contact one another to buy/sell static caravans they require or are trying to sell (at the end of their build)? We are looking for a 12' by 30' or 31' static van for next Spring (2010). Price: somewhere between 2 and 3 thousand pounds. Our plot is in North Yorkshire.
Your best bet is probably eBay. There are several on there at that sort of price. It's worth looking on there for building materials too. We have managed to pick up quite a few things like solar panels, heat recovery unit, sheets of insulation etc.

Hi we bought from Glossops carvans, lived in it for almost 2 years Glossops have a deal, the deal was that they bought it back at 50% the price we paid once we had built our house.
Well all i can say is dont fall for it!!!
Why not just do an Internet search for holiday caravan parks and contact them and leave your details. I'm sure the owners would be only too glad to make a few quid on the old caravans. This if you want to buy one. Our friends had to get rid of their old, perfectly good mobile home a couple of years back because it had reached the age at which the caravan site insisted they replace them.
