Design Ideas for Sloping Sites
A look at the design implications of building your own home on a sloping site
While most of my friends shiver their way through sub-zero temperatures (minus 6 as I walked the dog at 6.45 this morning) that look set to last for another couple of weeks, one of the joys for me and my fellow owners of recently self-built homes is the ability to feel rather smug about modern heating systems.
I've got one gripe about underfloor heating, though. I'm generally delighted with it, but boy, does it struggle to get going on warming the house up on very cold winter days.
