Confessions of a Self-builder

Speaking with one voice

Posted by David Snell on 27th February 2009

In all of their reports on housing, government have consistently remained ignorant of the existence of self builders. Yet we are the answer to so many of their problems. We build affordable houses. We build thermally efficient houses. We build good looking houses. We end up with a low loan to value mortgage. We trial new innovations.
But we need to speak with one voice. It’s been tried before but this time, with major players in the industry piling in, the newly formed National Self Build Association might just work. Membership is just £5 and you can get details by logging on to www.nasba.org.uk There’s a meeting at 3.00pm on the 16th March at The National Self Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon. Why not join and come along?
