I had a great time at the self build and renovation centre in Swindon yesterday! Despite the severe snow storm warnings all morning, twenty hardy souls from across the UK braved the motorway mayhem and made the trip down to Swindon for the day.

As mentioned in a previous posting, this particular trip is a primer for members of my Tycoon Mastermind Alliance coaching program who are also going to be visiting my self build project in Leicestershire later this week. I wanted them to spend the day with me at the self build centre so that I could help them with the basics of self build. I also invited non TMA members, some of whom had already completed several self builds as well as those who were starting out.

Here are some pictures from the day:

Building blog

My favourite feature of the self build centre if a beaten up property that you can walk around and actually see how the development takes shape. Before you go into the property you take a hard hat wired with an audio system attached that walks you through the development.

As you can see they have added lots of very authentic touches to the property - even moss and fake spiders crawling up cobwebs!

Inside they show you how to spot dodgy electrics that may need replacing

Here is a view of the bay window at the front of the property - note the damp patches

This is the bay window taken out and in the process of being renovated.

Here you can see the kitchen taking shape...

And here is the completed kitchen!

They even show the roof in its dilapidated state and then in stages you can see how it is repaired to a high standard.

I managed to grab a picture of some of the group outside the Potton property before the end of the day - this is a real timber frame property that has been built at the centre

"Hi Deep

Just a short note to say thanks for a really valuable day yesterday in Swindon

We thought that the renovation site in particular was amazing

Also it was a great opportunity to meet up with like minded people at a very challenging time for the property investment sector.............. And an opportunity to meet up with you again"

Best regards

As you can see we had a great time at the self build centre. If you are interested in property development or refurbishment then I recommend you get yourself down to Swindon and spend the day at the self build centre to learn the basics.
