I can't find a warranty provider?

Our mortgage provider is insisting our extensive renovation is a ‘new build’, while our planning and Building Control departments have classed it as a renovation! Are there any warranty providers – except BuildZone – who could give us a ten-year warranty for such a project?

The fly in the ointment here is the dispute over whether the project is classed as a new build or a renovation. It sounds to me like it would be classed as a renovation project for warranty purposes. The mortgage provider is being very difficult and it sounds like their surveyor has the wrong end of the stick.

Apart from BuildZone, I’m not sure of any other warranty providers who cover renovations. I’m assuming you’ve tried NHBC and LABC but both are namely concerned only with new builds.

I’m assuming your project has Building Regulations approval? If I were you I’d be chasing the issue with the mortgage provider, if BuildZone’s quote is unacceptable.
