Expert View: The Latest in Style
Gary Dart, UK MD, Duravit (0845 500 7787)

“You can’t beat ceramic for an attractive and timeless material that is also hygienic and easy to look after. Wall-mounted toilets keep the floor clear, which makes for easier cleaning, plus they create an illusion of space. Close-coupled toilets are, however, quicker to install.

When it comes to design, shapes and sizes are as versatile as for any other item of sanitaryware. The latest looks are softedged and more feminine, offering a change from the straight-lined, minimal styles that have dominated in recent years. “Practical design extras include soft-close seats, easy-clean surface treatments and seats that can be removed completely for more thorough cleaning.”
