Daily Telegraph Homebuilding & Renovating Award winners revealed!
I’m delighted to announce that the Overall Winner of this year’s Daily Telegraph Homebuilding & Renovating Awards is Shaun Beverley for the renovation of a 1970s home in Lancashire. Shaun’s project was exceptional in the eyes of the judges not just for the vision it displayed in taking on an unfashionable house type but because Shaun has embraced the original features of the house in the same way a renovator of a period building would. We feel that his project sets a new standard for homeowners looking to make the most of the plentiful supply of currently unfashionable postwar homes.
This year is the first year in which we’ve invited you, our readers and visitors to the homebuilding.co.uk website, to select a Reader’s Choice Award. During October you voted in your 1,000s to select your favourite of the 15 shortlisted homes. This year’s winner is the charming new oak frame cottage built by John and Janet Warren in Cheshire.
Well done to everyone who entered. The homes featured, and all of those on the shortlist, prove that self-building or renovating really is the only way to create a home that looks great, is a joy to live in and performs to the highest standards.
Best wishes
