Contemporary conversion of former cartshed, Nottinghamshire

Best Conversion

Irena took on a poorly-converted former cartshed and, through a programme of remodelling, refurbishment and extension has created a charming, unique home that is packed full of light. Most important to the scheme was a single storey extension that has created an L-shaped floorplan. This has opened up the interior thanks to the introduction of sliding doors and an impressive glass structure from Apropos – and there is now a free flow between the key living spaces, helped enormously by the vaulted ceilings. The project has been sensitively detailed and the resulting courtyard is now enjoyed from all parts of this very private house. The project cost £195,000 (£1,083/m²) and took 15 months to complete.
